Hey all,

Another in my continuing dumb questions about Columbia cylinder machines. I have noticed from many pictures on the Internet as well as from my own machine that early AT bedplates always seem to have two unused screws. Granted, ATs from about 1904 have an extra screw or two to accommodate hinging the motor to tighten the belt. However I can think of no reason for the screws I have pointed arrows to in the attached picture. They connect to nothing below the bedplate as far as I can tell. What are they for?

Used for attaching a crescent reservoir for multiple eartubes. The Type As had these "unused" screws too.

Amen, brother. I'd love to find one, but evidently they sold poorly. Very poorly. Extremely poorly.
