I wonder what was the purpose of such machine, maybe to play operas with no interruption to change discs, or to play sound to silent movies. Pathé sold machines with two arms and horns, but only one turntable, to increase the sound level when the disc is played by two arms and amplified in two horns: this one is the first I have seen.

The eBay description explained the purpose, to play a succession of records without delays.
