Reproducer

Put new gaskets in the reproducer off my Humanola. The needle bar has little spring tabs on each side which rest on the reproducer frame, it also has a adjustable half-moon metal piece that fits over the needle bar and rests on the spring tabs. Between the two there is some up and down movement of the needle bar. Kind of anxious to see what effect this arrangement has on the sound quality. The Reproducer swivels. Waiting for Ron Sitko to finish with the motor. Cheers

Guess there are very few Balanoe No2 reproducers floating around. Sure is lonely working on these off-brands.

Especially a Humanola-----a what!! Have a good weekend folks. Cheers

The "Balance" was an accessory reproducer intorduced in 1911 or 1912 which was specifically designed to be used with fiber styli. It will fit any standard Victor size fitting, and being made of brass would be a logical replacement for the fragile early Heinemann pot metal reproducer which would have originally been found on your Humanola. The "Balance" reproducer uses a Victor Exhibition sized diaphragm. The Balance No. 2 uses a Victrola No. 2 sized diaphragm. Both reproducers are most commonly found fitted with a Mobley stamped aluminum diaphragm of appropriate size rather than with mica.
