Interesting Facts: Soviet / USSR era manufactured machine. I believe this was made in the city of Molotov, which is what they called the city of Perm. This model is featured in the book " A World of Antique Phonographs", page 213. ( ISBN 9780764326967)

Favorite Characteristics: Smallest portable I've seen that's not a Bing or Miki, very nice and compact size. Crank and reproducer fit and lock into place in the case.

John - well, I got them for really good prices. Unfortunately I had to sell the brown one. ...but yes, they really do a nice job for such a small machine.

I remember those machines... I thought you'd sold both - it's great you kept one. I've always thought those odd soviet portables were so interesting, particularly the ones with the "external horn" that pivots out from the lid... I bet if those reproducers were rebuilt, the machines might sound quite good despite the small size... or have they been?

I would imagine the reproducers were not rebuilt, to my knowledge anyhow... perhaps they sound well because of their later production date of perhaps 40/50s... only a guess.
