Victor Junior Exhibition Reproducer?

I bought a Victor Junior at the last Donley auction. It came with this reproducer on it. It looks like a factory made piece on the back to fit into the horn elbow. I have never seen a reproducer like this. Is this an old home-made fitting or did Victor have a Junior reproducer like this? It fits the horn elbow perfectly.
Thanks,

It's a modified Exhibition reproducer. It looks like the modification was done a long time ago.

Ken,
I know the conventional wisdom is that these machines always came with a special reproducer, but I also purchased an un-restored Victor Junior which has the same Exhibition reproducer and adapter. My machine is serial number 6304. The reproducer has a round needle hole and the serial number of 96160, which I think roughly corresponds to the age of the machine. All examination before cleaning the reproducer and the adapter would lead me to believe that they were both original to the machine, but I am not an expert. Here are a few pictures of my reproducer before and after cleaning as well as the machine.

FYI, in the photo I posted of the machine it does have a reproduction crank since it came to me without a crank. The finish is original but I did a careful job of cleaning it before that photo was made. The decal is pretty rough, but I decided to leave it as is since the finish was still in such decent shape on the machine. I also am leaving the plating on the arm as is.

Hi Ken, this is a correct Victor adaptor to allow you to use a Exhibition reproducer on a Victor Junior phonograph.
It's listed in the Victor catalog of repair parts, under parts for Exhibition sound box.
Part number is E21 and description is adaptor for use on Victor Jr.
Seems this has been discussed here before but can't find it right now.

Thanks for posting the catalog pictures. This was an obvious upgrade. I'm sure the upgraded Exhibition sounded superior to the original reproducer.

Thanks for all the great responses. The catalog reference proves it is an original part. I guess I will have to get busy rebuilding it.

The adapter is held onto the back of the Exhibition by two screws. In the first picture in Ken's (and Steve's) post showing the back of the reproducer, what is the extra hole for in the flange of the adapter???
Inquiring minds want to know,

Could the little hole be in the correct position for the pin that's in a long throat Exhibition? The pin helps position the sound box and corresponds to a hole in the traveling arm. Jerry Blais
