Frustration time again. I have tried many variations in a search window to try to look up info about the 23 Edison Amberol Records I have. Not BLUE amberol, the black wax 4 minute in the Green sleeves. What description do any of you use in order to find info on the internet pertaining to those records in particular and individually. Thanks Again

I usually enter the following in my search: "Edison Amberol" -blue
Note also that Allan Sutton published a much detailed discography pertaining to these 4 minute wax cylinders not too many years ago.

I have many reference books and collect the 4 minute wax amberols. Tell me what you want to know and what numbers you have. Bob Kolba

10,27,28,95,107,110,124,127,128,139,219,450,450,483,745, the previous have the corresponding lids, the following do not.
6,61,67,330,544,868,914,988. That's it.
Yet another question on Edison Gold Moulded. I have 2 sleeves that are a bit larger than the normal sleeves and they have a cardboard tube in the center to act as a post. Were those for the brown wax cylinders? That is what I'm using them for at any rate. Just would like to know if anyone is sure about that. Thanks, Alan Girton
Oops

I found 3 more. 720, 191, 2226.

The 'spindle' boxes were used on Gold Moulded records from August 1904 until the summer of 1905. Brown wax cylinders (and, I believe, some of the earliest GMs) used an unlined box, but were themselves wrapped in cotton batting and paraffin paper.
As for wax Amberols, Allen Koenigsberg published a pretty comprehensive list in his book,
Edison Cylinder Records - 1889 -1912. There is also a good spreadsheet online, to which you can find links on this forum.

There's this list with a comprehensive list but the mentioned book is still a "must have" if you collect these records.
