Hello All: Can someone show me what an original Viva Tonal pocket album originally supplied with Columbia Viva Tonal phonographs looks like? I have several of the machines and none has original albums.

Thanks,
Green Mountain Bill

Albums where the record sleeves have a flap closure?

If you mean the albums fitted to the UK Columbia 201 and 202 portables, they are pictured below. At first glance they look identical but they are not. The 201 album on the left is 26cm wide and the 202 on the right is 27.5cm. They turn up on UK eBay, but ask the seller for measurements before bidding.

Roger.

This is how they are arranged in this model 820 that I have. I can take better pictures of those if this is the style you are looking to make.

Interesting Columbia model. I have never seen that one before, and it appears to have yet another version of the internal horn layout. Those sliding drawer record holders are a first as well. Sort of a take off on the Brunswick models.

Maybe I called them by the wrong name. I mean the 10 or 12 sleeve empty albums that came with the phonograph. All my Victor and Brunswick machines have them but neither of my Columbia Viva Tonal machines have any. I would like to know what they look like so I can try to find some.

Thanks,
Bill

So far no one has been able to show me an album originally supplied with the Columbia Viva Tonal models 611 and 711. If you have an album in a 611 or 711 that is somrhow marked Columbia, I would very much appreciate a photo of it.

Thanks,

According to the "Columbia Phonograph Companion, Vol. ii" the 611, etc., were supplied with 12" brown cloth covered albums. There's a photo of one of them on this page:

Hope this helps.

Orthofan: thanks for the link. That's what I was looking to see but have never seen one like it.
