The condition speaks for itself!

Proof of authenticity, if you were hesitant on whether or not it was a VE-405S.

-Two lid dampeners, one on the right of each side.

-No visible crank or brake switch

-Redesigned Victrola logo, denoting 1925 production

Looks stripped or refinished because there should be contrasting color in the squares on each panel. Also has an odd reproducer which I assume is not a Victor product.

Yes, there definitely is an off brand reproducer, probably added to increase sound quality during the orthophonic era.
