Help identify machine

Is this a legitimate HMV machine model? I know very little about them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It's a Crapophone unfortunately. Please note the angled crank, the hallmark of an illegitimate machine. There are other clues as well, such as the sharply angled horn elbow, poorly cut wood, and the design in general.

Sharp joints on the horn, badly lacquered cabinet...
Looks like a crapophone to me.

Don't forget the phony decal, tone arm and reproducer. Victor/HMV never made anything like that. Eric Reiss's book, the Complete Talking Machine has a chapter devoted to that.

At least the soundbox, motor and turntable are original HMV, even if they have been removed from a 102 portable!
