Best Phonograph Day

Recently I mentioned to friends that I wanted to use my phonograph and dance music collection as the opening act at some local bars. As fate would have it, I ended up lending a machine and records to the Philadelphia Orchestra and got to spend part of the evening showing conductor Stephane Deneve how to operate it. It was great getting to spend some time with a group who had encyclopedic knowledge of all the music I love (and that most of my friends have ever heard of
). The conductor and artistic group could not have been nicer or more interesting to talk with. Thursday I'll get to watch the performance, including the opeining act with my little old Standard Talking Machine.
Today I also began selling copies of Perfect labels "Charleston" (in the Yankee Trader section) and already sold a few.
And I found an Edison GM cylinder of "American Cakewalk" on Ebay for cheap
I don't think it can get much better!
