Does anyone have any pictures or information as to how the auction is going and what prices are like?

I have no pictures but the auction was great as usual. Steve Stanton and the crew were will organized and kept things moving at a good pace.
It was held in the big building so there was plenty of room to move around and mingle will inspecting the items.

As usual, condition varied on the machines from excellent to for parts. The auction was smaller than in the passed but still 3 days with over 1000 lots. No big hoards of unlisted parts this time to sell at the end of the day.

But there were parts during the auction and a couple hundred phono related items sold Thursday after the cataloged sale.

There were some nice items that brought strong prices but over all I'd say the market is still soft.

Over all a great auction and good time visiting with friends.

Thanks for the update Larry. I also heard from someone that the prices overall were low.

There was a Columbia / Regina 240 in oak that was quite beautiful. Does anyone know what it sold for? I'm guessing some where around $10,000.

It sold for $16,500, not including buyer's penalty of 10%. It was the best most collectors had ever seen, with no apparent issues.

There were two jukeboxes that sold for high prices. The 1942 rare Rockola that looked like an old type refrigerator sold for about 23K and the 1942 model 950 Wurlitzer sold for about 21K. The Capehart Orchestrope with the mechanical banjo went for, I think, 40K. The rough Amberola 1B went for about $1300. There were lots of open horn Victors, including 6's. There were three Edison Operas, two in mahogany and one in oak. The first mahogany Opera to go up went for 3K, and the second mahogany Opera, which had a darker reddish horn than the first one, went for 4K. I didn't see the oak Opera go up, so maybe someone can report what it went for? You have to add 10% to the above prices for the auction fee.
