Siam Soo puppet

I picked up an old Indonesian (?) hand puppet today that is identical to the Siam Soo figure. It is hand held though, just a wooden handle underneath and the two sticks that work the arms. The headress is a blueish-black rather than red. Was Siam Soo made in more than one color? I suppose this could be used to restore or complete a Soo . . .

John,
I had never heard of Siam Soo, so it was interesting that you mentioned this—I found
a page with a massive collection of photos and information on Siam Soo, which I just finished reading and strongly recommend.
Apparently there were two versions, but they look very similar.
Hope this helps.

Thanks! I had forgotten about that website, and at any rate, I only now have access to wifi and can use my laptop rather than my iPhone. I had the dealer ship the puppet to Indiana for me, so I can't look at it to compare. Guess it will have to wait until April! John M
