Is this cabinet phonograph related?

I was at an antique mall and noticed this cabinet. It was buried behind pictures that I had to move and balance while taking the photos. It's definitely not entirely original. I was thinking it might be for a cylinder player--until I opened it and saw what looks like disc or sheet music storage. The top flips up but the way in which it does sort of blocks the opening mostly (the back part descends as you raise the front so there's low clearance. Looks like it may be altered.)

I know it's a long shot and my photos are bad, but any thoughts?

It is not a phonograph cabinet. It is for sheet music with a display case for knickknacks on top.

Still nice to display phonograph related items and store records maybe (?)

That would be a nice cabinet to store 12" record albums in, and to display phonograph related items under the glass!
