Shane,
You should. I visited most (if not all) of the tourist attractions in D.C. when I was
Aaron’s age, and most of it is definitely worth seeing. Go spend quite a while in the Smithsonian while you’re there. That was probably the highlight of visiting D.C. for me.
gramophoneshane wrote:Do they have an estimate of how many people turned up?
More than 1 million people crammed onto the National Mall, according to ABC News. They went on to state that some 510,000 people had entered Washington's Metro transit system by 11 AM.
It sounds like
Aaron had a great time there, though, which is nice to hear. I think I would rather avoid that kind of crowd.

Yes, thanks for sharing!
I still have a few souvenirs from my 1993 8th grade field trip to the Bill Clinton inauguration.
It's definatly a life experience!

Glad to hear you had a good time, Aaron!
Personally, I would not have wanted to be there, as I don't like crowds due to the congestion and the obstructions that they create. I appreciate having sufficient space, whether it's on public transit, in the streets, in elevators, or in the hallways at the office.
If I had been elected president, I would have stayed away from my own Inauguration. As president, I would introduce legislation to punish those who would willfully spill coffee on Thomas Edison's likeness. I need help deciding what would constitute appropriate punishment.
