Getting creative with old barn wood since we are running out of space - who needs pictures hanging on the walls anyway I told my wife. She insisted we buy a bigger house

I think they look great! I should do something like that for my "favorites" since I tend to lose them among the others more often than not.

Can't do stuff like that in earthquake country

You sure can. Just make sure the shelves are bolted down good. Also a brace across the cylinders will help. I live in Western Washington State, and that's what we do to protect our collectibles from earthquakes.
