Vac-O-Rec 100 picked up at a local flea market in good working condition (like the one pictured) with original box and booklet. Never seen one of these before. Booklet says 1978. Junk or is this useful for 78's ??

That machine is not a wet cleaner like a modern record vac. You're supposed to run the record dry for de-dusting purposes. Can't see it being very effective on 78's that have real dirt and needle deposits and stuff in the grooves. They need a good wet clean - except Edison DD's of course.

This is a better, relatively inexpensive tool for 78 cleaning. https://www.amazon.com/SPIN-CLEAN-START ... B002UKSZUU

If you have a 10" miter saw in your workshop, just remove the blade, install a record start the machine and hold a wet brush against the record...

NOTE: this is just a joke, please do not try this with any valuable records, or ANY records for that matter... they will probably disintegrate with centrifugal force. Please wear eye protection and do not attempt this at home. Never attempt to cut wood, metal or anything with a record.
