Edison Lab Grand Opening

Post by WDC »

Here some few shots I took on Friday 9th at the grand opening. It was raining cats and dogs and ceremony was open air. But they were prepared and everyone received a free umbrella with the logo of the Edison Innovation Foundation. :D
I wish I was able to have taken more pictures but my camera requires both hands and does not like water...

Vince Giordano's Nighthawks were playing several hot numbers which I enjoyed very much. I was lucky to sit right behind members of the Edison family. A large tent with free beverages and bagels was behind the small building where Peter Dilg had two phonographs ready to make recordings and for playback which we did after the ceremony.

And there was this nice lady who came by and told her story how she mad Mr. Edison in person as a child while living the neighborhood. That was a very special moment for me.

Wow, Norman!!! Thank you for those photos! Wonderful! Aside from the Edison stuff, I'm intrigued by the machine that blew foam logos . . . what was that like? I've never heard tell of such a thing.

Thanks Norman, great pics as usual! I hope you enjoyed the visit with everyone. Wish I could have been there.... someday!
Ive got a video of how the "Flogo's" are made, shot at the show by Robin Rolfs. I will ask permission from Rob to post it. It's a pretty wild setup!
