$1250... "The cabinet has a some small veneer issues on top which I left alone as I didn't think it was worth ruining the original finish over."
Maybe the seller didn't notice, but the original finish is toast...

Actually, I know the seller of this machine. He's very honest. He didn't touch it because it didn't bother him and admits he didn't want to do further damage. A skilled cabinet guy could easily fix this all up, but he didn't intend to keep the machine, so, say what you will.

Sean, no offense to the seller as he was being honest about his reason for not touching it... However, I don't consider that to be "minor" veneer problems...
I doubt that most collectors would be OK with that damage and the attempted cover up with black paint for that price and once you fix it, which can be done with no problem, it is not "original" anymore so why make an issue of it...

I saw this on a facebook group and thought the same thing: "minor?!?" LOL.
It's not my thing but I do know there is a cult following for the Cortez so maybe someone will pay it. Who knows.

The Coretz is a great machine. The seller is an honest guy. He didn't paint the damaged part black, either, he got it that way. And yes, the price is high, but you never know who might "have to have one" NOW, so good luck to him. I love my Cortez, mine was much less and it much nicer condition. I still use my 8-8 and 10-50 more often
