FOR SALE: Edisonic Beethoven Diamond Disc Cabinet - SOLD
Posted: Wed Jul 05, 2017 11:18 pm
Here is a cabinet for the rarer of the two late Edison Edisonic Diamond Disc phonographs, the Beethoven. I was going to pull the works out of my Schubert as donor for this machine but decided for space and time considerations to let someone else take on the project.
The photos tell the story. It needs the Edisonic internals and some refinishing, and the record storage compartment needs work. However, it does include the hard-to-find Beethoven only components, including:
- unique door pulls
- grille (and original grille cloth!), in excellent condition
- unique motorboard wooden surround trim
It also includes the long Edison crank used in consoles, which is also hard to come by.
Although the right side door is removed from its hinges right now, the hinges are present. I will remount it for transport.
I can include a correct and working two-spring motor for this machine at a slight extra charge, if desired. The new owner will still need to find the long Edisonic horn and pivot rod to complete the machine.
It is available for sale and pick-up in the San Francisco Bay Area, with delivery possible within a day's drive in exchange for gas money. We can also utilize the Blais Express to get it cheaply to LA for the show this coming August, or to next year's Union show. We can also discuss other shipping options if desired.
Please have a look at the photos and PM me with any questions. Thanks for looking.
