Victor V Reduex

I wanted to share some photos of my Victor V that I purchased earlier this year from gramophone-georg. While in excellent condition and priced irresistibly, I wanted to make a few improvements such as cleaning up the turntable, restoring the ID plate, restoring the back bracket and the final touch, a wood horn. I wound up polishing the turntable edge as opposed to having it re-plated. I bought one of Eduardo"s decals for the back bracket and the finishing touch a lovely oak horn from Don Gfell. I sent Don some photos of the cabinet to match the horn and I think he did a terrific job. The cabinet has not been refinished. Just polished up. Here are some before and after shots. Hope you all approve.

That's looks great, Joe! The V is such a classy machine and still my favorite outside horn Victor model, yes, including the VI (I'll duck now...)

Looks great. I prefer the refurbished rather than the restored machines. How was that back bracket decal set to work with?

Joe- I absolutely hate it... it's a disgrace! I DEMAND that you send it back as it is now!

It comes in sections so it's easier to work with. It requires some trimming with an exacto knife.

I better duck too, Sean. I've always preferred the V over the VI.

Let me think about it. I'll get back to you in about 20 years.

I love my Victor V. To me, it has a Mission Oak look. It is a real, powerful, masculine looking machine. Thanks for sharing.
