Hi All,

I've purchased a nice Edison DD machine that will need to be shipped internationally. Obviously I want it to arrive as it left are there any recommendations/tips that I might give to the packer/shipper?

What DD machine did you purchase? Marc.

Generally speaking, remove the loose bits - reproducer, turntable, grill - and pack them separately. If you have an A250, remove the motor and horn as they are not attached to anything. For pretty much every other model, secure the horn so it doesn't swing all over. Now just pad and pack for shipment.

I'm sure others can chime in with more details.

I used Craters and Freighters of Irvine to ship a large Brunswick Cortez to Luxembourg. For only $650, the were able to crate it professionally and ship it to Antwerp, Belgium. But it took months to arrive! The buyer had to pick it up from there. But, I found out when I asked the San Diego Craters and Freighters for a quote that these shippers are independently owned. Their quote was i think about $3000, although that included delivery to the buyer's front door. The buyer went with the $650 quote from the Irvine location.

Yes, I'm pleased to have purchased it. I have a shipper. I was just chasing some advice on what advice I should be passing on in regards to how is should be packaged for shipping. Cheers,

... and it arrived in a single piece and in good shape! it cost me an extra 150 Euro to have it transported from Antwerp to my home in Luxembourg, which was done by the same company in Antwerp that cleared the machine in customs.
