Posted: Mon Sep 04, 2017 7:29 pm
This weekend, the Grayslake Vintage Antique Market, Lake County Fairgrounds 1060 E Peterson Road, Grayslake, IL, will again highlight the world of antique phonographs. WIMAPS and APS vendors will display and sell phonographs, records, and phonograph related items at the event. Of special interest will be the "re-introduction" of the Napkin Ring cylinder of 1904 as Tim Fizer of the Hoosier Antique Phonograph Society will show how he recreates and records on the “napkin ring” cylinders that helped promote the phonograph at the 1904 St. Louis Exposition and the 1905 Lewis and Clark Centennial Exposition. Attendees at the Grayslake Antique Market will have the opportunity to record their own Napkin Ring Cylinder.
Another feature on September 9th, at 1:00 will be John Hauger celebrating the 1904 St. Louis Exposition, giving a presentation on what was to be the biggest world's fair of all time, celebrating the Louisiana Purchase from France by the U.S. in 1803. It promises to be an entertaining step back in time.
This coming weekend market promises to be a good time with good friends. More highlights and information are at this website where viewers can see highlights of past shows.
