I bought a key for my Victrola XIV and it does not seem to fit. Was just wondering how many different variations they (Victor Victrola) made?

I only know of the early VTLA and the Victrola keys. When you say it doesn't fit, do you mean that it will not enter or that it doesn't operate the lock?

Oh yeah sorry. The key fits in fine, but it does not seem to operate the locking mechanism all the way. Seems like it only lifts the locking piece up halfway (for the lid lock).

It could be that the lock or key is worn, or the lock may need lubrication. You should remove the lock to lubricate it to protect your finish. The lock is probably just a little sticky.

The following link shows keys for many machines. If you scroll down a bit the 4 most common keys for various Victrola machines are shown. I think the only one that is different is the wreath key. The others should be interchangeable. A XIV should use a standard V key.
