Thoughts on price and condition and possibility of model type?

It's a 2/4 min. Model A long case home. Not a bad price including the horn and crane.

Yes, you need a C for two minute and an H for four minute cylinders. It's far from a "rare" machine and the price no bargain but fair. The Model A Home started as a two minute player and the four minute gearing was added later. Jerry

Thanks. Maybe I'll just wait until Orlando Show.

Out of curiosity, is the gearing switch the lever in front or the button on the side?

The 2/4 minute lever is located about an inch behind the pulley - and about equidistant between the pulley and the feedscrew. The front of the lever is in contact with the mainshaft/feedscrew, and changes the gearing which is located inside a hub next to the pulley.

Note that the entire crane is not shown, nor the inside of the horn (which appears to have been repainted). The top section of the crane must be missing. There's also a poor repair to the wooden motor frame in the back (both sides), a shaky new pinstripe along the crank side, and empty holes on the back of the cabinet where two Hawthorne & Sheble No.4 crane brackets were once located. The new screws holding the bedplate to the frame are the least of this machine's problems.
