I never saw a Columbia Client machine looking like that. Most of these machines used a cheap single spring motor. This motor and plate is from a higher end Grafonola. Also the arm and reproducer was never used on a client machine. The cabinet looks like a modified Silvertone case with a Grafonola motor "fitted". The grill I believe is from a Columbia Client machine. It is the exact same grill used on my internal horn Aretino. My Artetino was shown on a previous thread. Who ever did this modification, did a great and careful job. There are many possibilities. This could have been done recently, or during the Depression. In those days, people saved stuff and made do. Anyway, I'm theorizing. Even though it is not original, it's not a bad looking machine

and to add my 2 cents, I've never seen a client machine with a 12 inch turntable.
