Hey guys--
The quest for a cheap Amberola has come to an end with #229834, or what is left of it.
Has a one-piece gear cover with no speed knob, a black Diamond C reproducer made of pot metal, and a crank that winds the motor very quietly (no ratchet sound.) The brass tag is tacked to the inside of the lid and has black lettering. Last Patent Date is May 7 1918, and the reproducer SN is 273771.
No, sadly, it doesn't run, but I can take care of that. I played about 2 or 3 seconds of a cylinder and it skipped. Feedscrew is still good, though, with no horn hooked up.
When do you think it was made?
