How does one remove a Columbia reproducer?

I've attached a photo. I don't know how to remove the reproducer. I see a pin. Does that pin move in? move out? is it a button? It doesn't budge and I don't want to break anything.

It's always helpful to put the whole subject in the subject line.

Bigshot: I've fixed the subject line so now should be clearer.

The pin has a flat spring under it. Twisting and pulling will usually get it out, but you might want to put some penetrating oil on this one. The parts can be fragile.

Thanks, Dave. I gave it a tug after applying some oil--didn't move. But now that I now which direction to go, I will give it a try later. I'll let you know when I attain success.

Still not there. The pin now moves outward. And I can feel the spring. Now a dumb question before I make the situation normal: Does the pin come all the way out or no? Is it a release pin that disengages the reproducer w/o the pin coming all the way out? Or do I remove that pin completely?

The pin stays in. There is a groove in the neck of the reproducer that it slides in. The reproducer is pot metal and is probably swollen. If it is moving, you can probably eventually release it. Be careful. Good luck.

This photo may help you understand what you are dealing with. See the slot at about the 2 o'clock position on the reproducer?

This is a common problem with Grafonola reproducers with the bayonet fitting. The tone arms are made of pot metal. The earliest ones were brass. Assuming you have a pot metal arm, use Kroil or PB blaster on the connection between the arm and reproducer. Also, apply to the pin. Work it loose, back and forth, very SLOWLY, so the pot metal doesn't break. It should eventually come of. Don't forget, the reproducer is pot metal, also. If the reproducer cannot budge, but still sounds good, I would just leave it alone.
