Columbia Model 140 governor 'brake' adjustment
Posted: Fri Nov 24, 2017 6:49 pm
So, I got my Columbia model 140 today and the good news is it works and the motor winds and runs without issue... however, the brake on the governor, which also acts as the turntable brake is getting struck but the springs on the governor. I have tried adjusting the bearing but this has not helped.
The 'brake' is forked and goes on both sides of the disk on the governor shaft to slow it down, but the brake fork itself is on a pivot.
I will try to post pictures of the system soon.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
