Considering to buy this. It's in the same town as me! Is this a nice machine? Does it play two minute cylinders or does it only play language cylinders that are pictured here? It's missing the horn. What replica horn should I buy if I decide to purchase it?

Here's the description translated from Norwegian: "Selling a phonograph. It has previously achieved first place in an exibithion. It works!"

Paal,

It looks like a Columbia eagle something similar. It should play any 2 min. wax cylinders. It should probably take an aluminium witches hat horn. The are kind of expensive. Perhaps someone else can estimate, like on my Columbia AO. (Check out my youTube video for horn picture. It won't sound great, a bit tempermental to run too :monkey: but is kind of cute.

The little machine is a version of the famous Columbia Q. It will play two minute cylinders and should have a 10" cone horn. The horn is very small and is available as a reproduction for a low price ($15 to $20). It's a nice machine. I hope you buy it. Happy Collecting, Jerry Blais

I'm gonna buy if I can. It's the Norwegian eBay, so if no one else bid. I will "strike"

I've heard that some of these machines had the speed control fixed at a slow speed for language cylinders, but even if it's true it should be simple to release it. It's really nice finding it with the case- when new it would have probably used a set of ear tubes, the Language Phone labels show them.

I have seen the Language-Phone before Paal. It is just a type Q with a different banner. The Q i think does sometimes have a slow speed that would make it good for language cylinders. A nice machine you come by often with that Banner. Those cylinders are nice to have...a full set isn't very common. GOOG LUCK!
