One other thing: (Y'all gonna get tired quickly of my machine questions...) On an Ultona, is there supposed to be a screw-down chuck to hold in the Pathé stylus? And can steel needles work in there for, say, Gennet verticals?

Mine is missing all the needles and has threads but no chuck to hold anything in the vertical stylus hole.

Yes- there is a screw collet, similar to what you'd find in a drill.
