I was rummaging through one of the boxes still unsearched from a collection I acquired a couple months ago and found this, Columbia 824-D, recorded in October, 1926 featuring the very first recording made with Bing Crosby. Since the original master was recorded too slow, I took the liberty of playing it back at something less than 78 rpm. The vocals sound much better, Crosby is easily recognizable.

Sounds very nice. It's something that I like with Viva-Tonals, that they tend to sound more acceptable than a Victor record in similar condition.

Thank you for posting this. I've only heard this one time many years ago and enjoyed hearing it again. Excellent transfer, too.

Some issues of this record have the Charleston Serenaders listed instead of Don Clark. Bing and Al Rinker are the vocal.

The UK Columbia 4310 lists these tunes as by the Charleston Serenaders, I don't think it was issued as such on a USA label. Now I have to find one of those...
