I'm looking for an Amberola DX Gear Cover (with screws) as shown in the attached photos.

That Amberola used the basic Fireside top works. Ron Sitko sells a nice reproduction Fireside gear cover. Jerry Blais

Jerry, thanks for the information. I updated the posting with the correct photos and it looks like the Fireside gear cover is different from the Amberola DX.

Does anyone on the forum have an original cover?

The photos are from an original gear cover on ebay selling for about $40 (including shipping). I'm new to the Amberola phonographs, is this a fair price for the part? Or is there anyone out there willing to sell one for less?

There is a difference between the Fireside gear cover and the DX one. The DX gear cover shown is solid except for slot for the screw. The Fireside has a larger notch cut out to accommodate the Fireside bed plate. This notch is for the crane socket. The Fireside gear cover will work in a pinch until you find the correct gear cover.
