A good source is to contact Ron Sitko next week. His phone number is in the Links section.

Ron is one of the 2 or 3 most recommended repair and parts sources mentioned here. His contact info has been posted dozens of times. However, he is closed until after New Year's.

That is called asking for a reference about a business/person.People do tend to do that.

Maybe I'm being dense, but isn't a recommendation the same as a reference? Why would someone here recommend a repair guy who is no good?

I just wanted to know exactly how good he is? Many people are good, what makes him so highly recommended? Not being rude just curious.

I also would recommend Ron Sitko. I've sent some reproducers out to him before and he puts an immense amount of care into ensuring the tone is just right when rebuilding them. He would do a great job servicing your motor.

There are many people who do repairs out there. Some good and others excellent. The people on this forum normally recommend the best to other people. It is someone who has done a lot of repairs on phonograph parts for them. I had a rarer winged model C reproducer repaired by him. He found the parts and it came back in excellent shape. He is one of the few that has very good knowledge on phonographs and what needs to be done to them to be original. Go on the bottom search tab and put in repairs. His name will come up a lot. Tom B
