Swollen Mandrel Bearing on Edison Standard Model E

Hello everyone,
I just bought an Edison Standard Model E with a swollen mandrel bearing. I've replaced two mandrel bearings, both on Standard Model D's. The is the first bad bearing I've had on an E. Am I correct in assuming that the bearing itself and the replacement process is the same on the Model D as it is on the Model E?
Also, I haven't started work on this machine yet, but I fear that getting the old bearing out may prove difficult. The mandrel shaft is completely frozen and won't budge at all. Does anyone have any tips for removing a stubborn bearing?
Thanks -
Mike
