Here is a "DANDY" Record. Okay, I removed the out of focus image, and replaced it with a scaned image. So it will be easier, to see.

Neat record, Paul. Yes, it is way out of focus, but I can still make out the title--"Thanks for the buggy ride." Like so many songs of the time, this must have been recorded by every label on earth.

Thank You Rocky. I never heard of the tune, but I had seen the label in a Record guide that I have. The only guide book too include 78's. "American Premium Recrod Guide 1900-1965"

'Thanks For The Buggy Ride' is a very catchy tune that speaks to the rapid transformation of the automobile as the primary mode of transport in this country. The young urban flapper whose point-of-view the song is sung from, has never ridden in a horse-drawn vehicle, even though the automobile was in widespread use only 25 years!

I've never seen that label before, though . . . the title type style looks like that on the 'Cameo' label. Is this a Plaza group label?

Dandy was tied in with the Scranton Button group of labels, I believe (which included Emerson, Federal and others at various times). Don't quote me on this yet, I'll check ARLIE on this and the Clico label when I'm at home. My memory isn't what it used to be!

OK, my memory here was actually pretty good. Dandy was part of the Scranton group, directly connected with the Emerson family. They were produced from 1924-26, yours appears to be a late 1925 or 1926 issue.
