This, in my opinion, is the best of the best. My wife even had great things to say about it, and she is about phonograph'ed out!

That has to be the frist one I have ever heard. I have seen pictures of this machine, but never actually heard it play. Too cool! Now if I only had the room and the money....

$135000??? I feel like Ichabod Crane!

( . . . But at least I don't look like Ichabod Crane!)

Sorry, the 'restoration' looks ugly to me in places. It certainly looks to be over-restored and any vestiges of its age have been all but wiped out. I would also want a lot more photos before handing over that kind of money for anything!

It is a rarity, of that there can be no doubt. If you're a serious cylinder machine collector, then you simply HAVE to buy this. And right before Christmas too!

I agree, looks too new and shiney. :)

There was one of these at the Wayne parking lot meet back in October.

I'd agree it's a bit over restored for my taste but might have been a basket case that required such a restoration. I suppose if you've got the money and just have to have one, there are not many chances.

It is impressive, but I agree that it looks too new.

At that price, it's amazing how contentedly I can live without it.

Interesting point. If it were just a little beyond my reach I'd be tempted to do something stupid and might be fretting over it. This is so far beyond my reach that I'm not bothered!

I have to wonder how rare these really are. I've run across 6 in my travels including one at a little rural auction (that was needy and still sold for $25K). The price being asked is ridiculous in my opinion. The last one offered for sale (that I know of) was completely restored and they were "only" asking $50K. Even at that price there weren't many takers (or any that I know of). And that was at the height of the phono prices (ca 2004-5).

This would be an amazing addition to any collection but at $135K...that's just crazy!
