Would anyone have the text of 'MacGregor's Toast' by Sir Harry Lauder?
Thanks!

Any idea who the composer was?

Yes, it is a spoken-word piece written and performed by Harry Lauder. It is a toast given by someone named MacGregor.

I think you'll be lucky to find it in text form anywhere. I've got it on BA, but as you say, it's all spoken, so having no musical accompanyment, it doesn't appear to have been included in any HL song books etc. His Francis & Day song books stopped in 1925 anyway, & this was a 1926 recording.
You may be stuck with sitting down with pen & paper, and writting it all out yourself?
There are several books that Lauder wrote from 1927 on, that include "song lyrics", but whether MacGregors Toast is included in one is anybodies guess.

The problem is that I don't have a copy of the recording from which to transcribe. I looked it up on the UCSB cylinder digitization site and it is listed, but with no audio file provided.

I found this version online. I'm guessing it is either the HMV or Victor recording because it's slightly different to the Edison BA I have.
