Which set would you rather have the vv-xvii or vv -130?
Which is the more desirable set?

They're both so similar, although I personally like the XVII better because I like the roman numeral collection (X, XI, XIV, XVI, XVII, etc) and I hope to someday have one of each and line them up in a row. The 130 and XVII are worth about the same in my expirences.

Yes, they are similar. To some collectors, the Roman Numeral designation is a plus. Others may like the VV-130 since less were produced.

All things being equal, I'd chose the VV-130 because of its cool wooden used-needle drawer!

Agreed with Bob. I have two 130s, one in Japanese Lacquer and the other Mahogany. Both of mine lived relatively easy lives and were well cared for and I'm the second owner of each. Classy machines for sure, although the more full my house gets, the Mahogany 130 may be looking for a new home this Spring since I just can't keep everything

You have no idea how badly I want to do just that, but first I have to pay off the mortgage. Couple of years left and maybe...

That used needle drawer is really neat! I'd never seen anything like that on a Victor product before. Very nice.

I think the 130 is the only model that had that drawer... the 230 and 330 lowboy versions have standard needle cups... and that's pretty much the only real difference between the XVII and the 130, the needle cup/drawer design and location, and the latter also has fancier knobs.

I love my oak VV-130, It's my favorite upright.
Anybody have a VV-130 owner's manual they would part with?
