I just picked this up at an antique shop. I was intrigued by this phonograph for several reasons. First, it works great and sounds good.
The volume control is really cool, you move the lever on the side and it opens and closes little doors in front of the horn behind the grill.
It has an adjustable auto stop and speed control on the front of the turntable unit.
And, lastly, I hope someone can tell me what kind of wood the cabinet might be. It is definitely not mahogany or oak. So, would it be walnut or something else?
Any info someone could share about this phonograph would be appreciated.
thanks,

Sweet cabinet. It's like the Kimball pianos also built in Chicago.

I wouldn’t rule out Mahogany, but it could be Walnut or even birch,( a little hard to tell from the pictures). Nice book matched doors. Can the reproducer be orientated to play vertical cut records? Nice looking machine.

Yes, another piano manufacturer like Starr and Bush & Lane in the phonograph business.
Lest we forget Thomas Edison also made concrete pianos and phonograph cases for that matter.

That's a stately looking cabinet. It sort of reminds me of the Pooley uprights used for the Edison Amberola 1A/1B, and Diamond Disc A/B-250.
Congratulations!

That is a gorgeous machine! From those photos I'm going with walnut.

Yes, a great find with a walnut cabinet. Much harder to find one in walnut. Congratulations.
