THE SHINING: Horror. Vernis-Martin meets lemon Pledge.
TRUE GRIT. Involves lots of Bluebird and Red Columbia records--and wear testing, to see which has TRUE GRIT. Spoiler--the guy just buys a Pathé at the end of it.
THE BIRDS: A Victrola, a yard-sale, and a flock of overloaded cedar waxwings. Horror.
CITY LIGHTS: Four days into the power outage and the phonograph guy is just fine.
GROUNDHOG DAY. Has the wrong Billy Murray in it.
TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD: A collector deletes the last Three Stooges videos--to save Charles Daab's 1912 xylophone hit from further association. Horror.
A RIVER RUNS THROUGH IT. Water damage, Craigslist, and a general mess.
INTOLERANCE: Cousins have a disquieting tendency to tell Our Hero he has Aspergers/needs one of those hoarding shows to clear him out.
THIRTY SECONDS OVER TOKYO: A Japanese collector, new to the United States and his third-floor apartment, buys a Victor 10-50...but didn't measure the stairs. He does know a guy with a cherry picker truck, though.
THELMA AND LOUISE: Two old Shabby Chicks drive off a cliff in their Prius trying to get more green paint. They're both organ donors so they're upcycled too.
THE WIZARD OF OZ: Dorothy travels far into a magical land for new cylinders. Sorry, they've been out of business for years.
GONE WITH THE WIND: Hubby likes fans, Honey likes victrolas. Must a house divided lead to a civil war, or is there hope?
All right, any other suggestions? This could be funny.
