Ok, well Dean (phonophan79) always posts things he finds on Craigslist, and i've always wanted to share some things i've found on ebay. So i'm going to point out some rare/interesting things, and some things i think there might be some money to be made on...but of course there are some things i might not show

The way I usually view the idea of not showing what "I am interested in" is flawed because of course others are watching something they also want. Part of the fun is in the hunt and the hope of finding a bargain. When these things are flaunted on sites like this then the guy who may have located a "jewel" he wanted finds lots more people possibly running the items up.
Yes I know that its a free country and its an auction. But I belong to several other collectable groups and they most definitely frown on something there watching being trust to a much larger audience. In fact posting of ebay items that are "active" are seen as being in bad taste.
Just a thought, do as you wish of course.

I've been watching that 50, but realize the price will skyrocket in the final hour of the auction. Ebay sniping is such a pain it's not even funny.

What ebay could do is what happens on Gunbroker.com Any bids in the final 15 minutes automatically extends the auction...a sort of "going once, going twice..." affair to discourage sniping.

Aaron, I just wanted to say "Thank you" for posting these. I don't find it in bad taste at all. If someone's bidding on ebay then they need to take their chances. I for one appreciate being given these types of "heads up" notices, and I enjoy looking at the postings that I mightn't have found myself. So thanks, Aaron, for keeping this site interesting.

It may seem contradictory... but when I find something worth discussing on eBay... I generally wait 'till the auction has come to a close. Obviously Craigslist is not an auction site, therefore the discussion must be made while the product is available. Once sold, the ad is pulled. On eBay, there is plenty of time after an auction closes to discuss the product.

I agree with phonophan79 on this subject. The LAST thing I'd do is call attention to anything on Ebay I was interested in while the listing is active. I wouldn't do it for anything I wasn't interested in either. Why affect some interested bidder's lucky chances if an item ends up under the radar?

This is my take on sniping, for what it's worth. Sniping should never be a problem for anyone. It is very simple with eBay. If you find an item that you would like and are placing a bid, make that bid for the highest amount that you would be willing to pay for that item. It's that simple. I understand that sometimes we buy things off eBay for the sake of finding a deal when something is listed in the wrong category. But even so, place your bid for the highest amount you would pay for that item. It shouldn't matter when you do it or who may have the money to bid one increment higher. Bid to your max and if you win, great! If you don't win, then you can rest assured that you will not have buyer's remorse. This approach makes it simple.
