I am looking for the center rod (see picture) for the governor on a Columbia AA open works phonograph. It is an early machine and many later models which look like it will not fit. Mine has the small pin on the end broken off and I don't think it is repairable so need another one. Thanks for any help.

Putting new pivots on a shaft is a common clock repair job. Check with a good local clock repairer.
Any good clock repairer should be able to repivot that for you.

I'm a little late to this party, but for the sake of clarity, the Columbia open-works disc machine was an AU. The version for the Standard Talking Machine Company was the AA.

The crank on the early front mount and rear mount machines used the same governor. These are the machines with the push-pull speed control. The later horned machines, and early Grafonola, used a governor almost identical. However, the pins and bearings will not fit into these early machines. They are too big in diameter.
