I agree, it is a handsome machine... looks like a triple head ultona, which is always fun... too bad its a console.

This one is $200 cheaper.

I don't see much "Chippendale" there though. Is it not more of a Queen Anne style, regardless of what the original advert seems to say?

I think that it's primarily the legs with the carved knees and claw feet. Hard to tell- they probably chose Chippendale as being popular.

Does the advertisement say how much the Chippendale originally sold for. Unusually to see two of the same "Art" model, come up for sale at the same time. Something does not look right about the grill on the cheaper one. I wonder if the original was replaced.

The Brunswick machine is actually a closer representation of the classic Chippendale design, than Edison's Chinese Chippendale cabinet styles were.

Same basic cabinet they used for the top of the line walnut queen ann type cabinets. I had one for years but never liked it. Those legs just look like they don't belong on that box to me, it was even worse in person. It may be a personal thing, I just didn't find the style attractive, more cumbersome than anything. I think their consoles that used the lower lines and had a tie bar between the legs worked much better. It reminds me a bit of the fancy upright Brunswick's I have seen in walnut that have the added moldings on the cabinet. They work, this one I am not as enthused about, and I like consoles.
