Victor Backbrackets and tone arm question

I had a quick question I was hoping someone could answer for me. Are the backbrackets for the Victors M, MS, III, IV, V, and VI all the same size (at least the earlier ones that have the clamp down elbow, rather than the slip in)? And in a related question, are the tone arms any different between them (wouldn't they be since the the V and VI have 12" turntables and the others have 10"?).
I know the Vic I and E had their own size bracket and tone arms, and I believe the Vic II had a size all to its own as well...just wanted to check on the rest.
Thanks
JP

Hey Zeppy.
I posted a similar question about a Vic 4 that I had that came with a Vic 2 sized bracket and tone arm (they are interchangeable because both land the needle in the center of the spindle). I assumed that someone had swapped out backets and tone arms, but strangly, I have found (no fewer than 4) examples that are like this, including one that HAD to come from the factory that way. So, I said all that to say, it is possible that parts were either swapped at the factory or maybe at the dealer before sold.

The Vic M, MS, III, and IV are the same size. The D, V, and VI are another size. The tone arms for all the mentioned models are the same size. If the tone arms are the same and the cabinets are large, the back bracket must make the upward curve quicker. If you place a Vic III bracket and a Vic V bracket against a flat vertical surface, the III bracket is deeper. A prospective buyer should always check to make sure that the needle in the playing position hits the spindle or is very close. That's a good quick check. Happy collecting, Jerry Blais
