What is inside the back bracket

I have a Victor IV with a back bracket like the one pictured.
I moves free enough to play records but has some drag to it. Because of the drag it won't track Pathé records when I use my Pathé attachment.
I am curious as to whats inside in case I decide to disassemble it. It feels like it is spring loaded and I see a very small set screw at the bend in the arm.

Have you oiled the pivot pin and the tonearm? Remove the Y piece and the elbow to get to where you should lubricate the tonearm. Even though it moves "freely", it is obviously not moving freely enough and may be gummed up with some old lubricant... also, lubricate the J tube that holds the reproducer.

The problem with such attachement is the weight. The Pathé groove is very shallow and requires a quite heavy arm to properly track it. For such attachment to work well, it needs additional weight. I have a couple of these, and to make them work I had to tape weights on the back; I know of others that made a metal disc and screwed on the back of the reproducer.
