Montgomery Ward version of a Credenza. Certainly very cheap opening price- it appears the tone arm support has been taken to pieces. If this was near me I'd at least give it a look over.

But read the not so fine print- THE CABINET IS NOT INCLUDED AND ALL IS SOLD AS IS
Looks like a "likker" cabinet in the making.

Especially when you consider that Montgomery Ward Melophonic phonographs don't surface that often, compared to the Sears Tru-Phonic and other Ortho-knockoff models.
This one being gutted for parts looks to be one of the mid-range models. Wards also sold one that was the same size and shape as the Credenza. In fact, one of these came up for sale on Craigslist awhile back and was discussed here --

I also remember that one of this site's members inherited one of the larger models, and wanted to restore it --

I wonder what became of that one?

Cecilian machines have to be considered relatively rare, but unfortunately that doesn't equate with being valuable- the ones I've seen haven't been as attractive as a nice Silvertone. Still, I hope some good examples have been preserved.

This is a suprisingly good sounding machine. it was the rough equivalent of the Victrola 8-12.

It's a shame that the one in Buffalo is going to die.
