Looking for help with adjustment of opera reproducer lift

As title says, on my opera, when you go to play the record the lever slowly lets down the reproducer weight with no problems. When the record is finished however, it will not pick it up, I have to kind of help the piece on the reproducer get into not so binding of a position and it’ll pick it up just fine. I can take pics if it’ll be easier to understand. I’m sure it’s just an adjustment but I don’t want to do anything with it unless I know for sure cause it’s my baby lol.
