WANTED: Early 3 Spring Victrola Motor c.1913

Just brought home a nice Victrola VV-XVI serial number 72289E with no motor. Anybody have a spare 3 spring with double cut spindle? OK if it is broken as long as the parts are all there.

Could someone post a photo of the motor that goes in this Victrola? Is it the same as an "L" door? Thanks, Jerry

It is my belief that this Victrola uses a variation of the L-door motor, with direct wind. The two are incompatible, and this motor was also used on the 1913 XIV. I could totally be mistaken, but I'm fairly confident in this fact. This is a sold eBay listing of what you'll need. The standard L-door motor has gearing in place to move the crank.

I think he is right. I once owned an extra of this style motor and traded it off because I couldn’t find s machine for it. Direct wind, cranks on the opposite side of the l-door version, and the speed control is in the rear.

The Victrola book says this version 'E' has almost the same motor as the last L-door with 3 springs, double cut spindle, a 5/16" female winding crank, indirect winding. The motor for the last L-door is described the same except the winding crank is ¼" instead of 5/16".
Though the motor on Ebay had a quad cut spindle, it might still have worked.

I couldn’t remember if it was you or Wes that I handed it off to. Yes, it is/was this motor exactly. I’m glad it will finally get used!
