Thanks for your comments, George. The later Edison Home bed plates like this have always struck my eye as well. I'll never forget the very first time that I saw one of these (a complete Edison Home model D with the blue/gold bed plate) at an auction. I was so excited to go home with it. The mandrel was, of course, seized up good and tight but that didn't diminish my enjoyment at just gazing at the bed plate.
