SOLD: Victor Z - $900

Selling a nice little Victor Z
which is in all-original condition. Apparently the horn and elbow are Columbia but shouldn’t be difficult to find. It functions and looks fine as-is until then. Price reduced to reflect this. You don’t see these for sale often. This one runs and sounds great, as I’ve rebuilt the long-throat Exhibition reproducer and serviced the motor. Plays a 10” side and then some.
The Victor Z was a transitional budget model between the Victor R and the Victor I. This machine has an 8" turntable and the new style "bullet" brake. Initially the Victor Z had the option to add a rear mount "taper arm" like the Victor R, but in 1905 a new style cabinet was introduced that did not have this option, making them an even cheaper alternative to the Victor I. This particular machine is very late judging by the high serial number and 1907 paper label on the bottom.
I am willing to expertly pack and ship this at your expense, or deliver it to Union free of charge.

Brandon,
Isn't that a Columbia Horn and elbow? The rubber feet on the bottom of the cabinet also look to be replaced with the type they use these days ?
Thanks Eric

Regarding the feet, yes they are new. I’m pretty sure original feet that scratch your furniture aren’t desirable. I consider those as much as an issue as replacement reproducer gaskets, which is why I didn’t think to mention it.
Regarding the horn, I assumed it was original as that is what came on it when I bought it at Stanton’s several years ago and it was listed as all original at that time.
If someone would rather make me an offer, by all means. I’m selling this stuff to pay for a sick dog, otherwise I’d keep it.

Hi Brandon-- Yes- The horn/elbow is Columbia/Columbia client-- Standard equipment on the front mount Standard Talking machines and on the Columbia and Standard open works AU/AA machines. Except for early leather elbow type horns, the Victor horns were threaded and used the threaded brass elbows.

Brandon, Eric is correct. The horn and elbow is indeed from a Columbia. The horn should be an all black one with a screw on elbow. The bell should be 9 ½" in diameter. Also, these had had the B & B horn with a screw on brass elbow, too. Still a nice machine and the correct parts will turn up. I never saw one that late before. Good luck with the sale.

Price adjusted to reflect Horn issue. This is still a nice and quite desirable machine, the correct horn won’t be hard to find, I’ve been told.

If someone has the correct horn and elbow for this machine, the price is very reasonable. Victor Z models are pretty scarce and used to bring much more $. The Columbia horn and elbow are in great shape and could be an upgrade if you have a rougher one on a machine. If I didn't already have one in the collection, I would be buying it.
